A few weeks ago, my daughter and I saw a toucan eating a banana straight from the tree here on the farm. She spent the week imitating the toucan with its beak piercing the banana, and I thought… what an imagery force this bird has, no!? I’ve painted some but seeing them up close is always breathtaking.
On one of these virtual trips, browsing between profiles, I found an incredible photo of the artist @gabisaearp with the title: “a little banana, a little ripe”. I thought the photo and the caption were brilliant, it was my reference to compose this mural that represents well what life has been like around here in these times: real experiences and discoveries often through the eyes of my little one and virtual trips between beautiful, funny and uncompromising things with the heavy reality..
I confess that I couldn’t think of a name for my work, Gabriela’s caption is insurmountable.
